Nathan ready to lend a hand after a lifetime of helping out at Henty

Nathan Maloney is Henty born and bred, spending his childhood helping out cooking steaks or making deliveries at the field days and as adult working as an electrician and in recent years as an exhibitor.

As the owner of Wodonga business, Redi 2 Hire, Nathan and his wife Melinda are now the newest businesses to join the Henty Machinery Field Days as official sponsors.

Nathan grew up playing for the Henty Swampies AFL team and has sponsored the club for many years. He often helped out his parents cooking in the steak house at the field days to raise funds for Henty Public School, and also made parcel deliveries at the goods shed.

When he qualified as an electrician, each year Nathan helped out colleague Rodney Gabriel making sure all the power was connected and working on every site on the field days each year.

While living in Melbourne Nathan and Mel started their own electrical business and after nine years with a young family they decided to relocate before to Table Top and open Redi 2 Hire, an equipment hire and sales business, in Wodonga in 2014.

“We provide a friendly, professional service to the Wodonga, Albury and surrounding regions with an extensive range of new hire and sales equipment for use by the home handyman, tradesman, building, contractor, councils and industry,” Nathan said.

In 2020, Wacker Nueson Australia Pty Ltd became the exclusive distributor of Dingo Mini Digger/Loader machines, attachments and parts for the Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands.

The new range of mini loaders has continued to be manufactured in Dalby, Qld, by Dingo Mini Diggers/Loaders under the Wacker Nueson brand. As such, Redi 2 Hire now services and repairs Dingo’s and has a large range of spare parts on hand.

Redi 2 Hire provides sales and service agents for Ox Tools range of concrete hand tools, Digga attachments, Norm Engineering excavator and equipment attachments, Crommelins Machinery and hydraulic and engine oils from Penrite Oil.

A member of the Hire and Rental Association Australia, Redi 2 Hire can hire portable outdoor cinema screens, access equipment, compaction and excavation equipment, compressors, concreting and bricklaying equipment, generators and welders, landscaping and gardening equipment, scaffolding, mini loaders, lifters, power tools, saws and demolition tools and trailers. 

A keen classic car enthusiast, Nathan hires out the portable outdoor cinema screen to vintage motoring clubs, councils and festivals for drive-in movie nights. 

“Our company is well renown for being able to find anything people need at short notice,” Nathan said.

“Henty is my home and any chance I get I like to get back there – we have been an exhibitor for the last five to six years under Wacker Neuson so our business is a natural fit with the Henty Machinery Feld Days.”
