Field day visitors can help celebrate Farmall centenary and win a tractor

The celebrations for the Farmall are continuing at the Henty Machinery Field Days where visitors will have the opportunity to enter a competition to win a Farmall 60B tractor, valued at $45,000 and the competition is free to enter.

Case IH’s well-loved Farmall turns 100 this year with its reputation for toughness and versatility standing the test of time.

This year’s centenary is a chance for the brand, Farmall owners and collectors of the iconic tractor to celebrate the long history of the machine, and honour its place in the advancement of farming around the world.

Case IH Australia and New Zealand Product Manager for Mid Horsepower and Compact Tractors Seamus McCarthy said it was an exceptional opportunity for one lucky winner.

“The tractor giveaway initiative is part of the Farmall 100-year celebrations. The reason we selected the 60B for the competition is that it’s one of the most popular Farmall tractors and is something that will be not only valuable but also useful for the prospective owner,” he said.

Seamus urged visitors the Henty Machinery Field Days to look for the Case IH display for their opportunity to enter at the site.

Over the last 100 years the Farmall has continued to raise the bar for agricultural machinery, achieving some significant milestones along the way. In the 1940s, Farmall introduced the world’s first diesel row crop tractor; later that same decade, in 1947, the one millionth Farmall rolled off the assembly line.

In 1965 it became the first 2WD row crop tractor to exceed 100 horsepower, and in 1974 Case IH sold the five millionth Farmall, the first tractor to ever reach that number.

In July, Farmall tractor collectors from across Australia helped put the community of Inverell on the map with a turnout of dozens of Farmall tractors setting a new Guinness World Record title for the largest parade of Farmall tractors with tractors from the 1930s right up the current model Farmall’s participation in the record attempt.

Case IH Australia and New Zealand General Manager Aaron Brett said the adrenaline was running for all participants as they started the record attempt and to finally achieve the unique milestone was a big moment in the centenary celebrations.

“We always wanted to hold a special celebration for our Farmall tractor, and the record success has really been the icing on the cake,” Mr Brett said.

“The Farmall is a much-loved tractor right around the world, including Australia and New Zealand, where it fulfills a range of tasks in so many different farming operations. Whether it’s a utility tractor for a broadacre operation, or the principal tractor for a small horticulture business, it’s importance and relevance across so many decades is really unmatched for any other tractor model.”
