HMFD Chairman’s message for 2022

Welcome back! 

We are very pleased (and relieved) to open the gates again to the 2022 Henty Machinery Field Days after two years of cancellation. 

We welcome back all of our past exhibitors, last here in 2019, along with those exhibitors new to us in 2022.

While the impact of the cancellations in 2020 and 2021 cannot be ignored, the future is bright and HMFD intends to be a part of that optimism.

Our field days showcase innovation and the latest in technology to the agricultural community.  We are an event that has something for everyone with many interesting and educational exhibits throughout the site.

Henty Machinery Field Days marks it’s 59^th year since it began in 1963 and we look forward to our 60^thanniversary next year. 

This year we will have all the past attractions which we know you will enjoy again this year.  Henty Machine of the Year, Greater Hume Council Best Australian Designed and Manufactured Machine, Natural Fibre Fashion Awards, Exhibitor Awards, vintage machinery, Baker Seeds agronomy plots and the ever-popular sheep dog trials. 

An event of this magnitude cannot happen overnight with many hours of planning and management put towards these field days.  HMFD is proud of what we produce through the hard work and efforts of our directors, staff and members.  

Since 2019 we have had two dedicated members retire from the Board.  Ross Edwards served as chairman from 2007 to 2021 and has been a Cooperative member for 56 years. We also thank John Maher for his 26 years of dedicated service to the field days as a Director - John retired from this role in June 2022.  

HMFD also pays our respects on the passing of former Director Len Hamson and accountant Graeme Simpson.
